Reflecting on Our Website Giveaway 🎉
05 November 2024
A little while ago, we hosted our first website giveaway! The goal was simple: connect with more people, bring some fresh eyes to KittyCode Creative, and give someone the opportunity to win a professionally crafted website, valued close to £1000. While we didn’t receive as many entries as we’d hoped—only three participants—we were thrilled with the diversity and uniqueness of those entries.
The Giveaway
The giveaway ran from October 2nd to October 11th - giving people over a week to submit their interest. The only requirements were to like the post, follow our instagram profile and leave a comment. The usual social engagement type of thing! We thought we had a pretty nifty animated post for the occassion as well. You can check out the post here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DAopJITgZXY/.
Initially, we planned to choose a single winner, but after seeing the entries, we decided to celebrate all three! Each entry brought something unique to the table:
- A Local Business Website – A great opportunity to work with a small Eastbourne-based tennis café. They’re undergoing a rebranding at the moment, which we’re thrilled to support with a new online presence once their brand is set.
- A Wedding Website – Creating a wedding site for a local couple is a unique opportunity we might not have thought of otherwise, and we’re excited to make something special for them to celebrate their big day.
- A Gaming Blog/Review Website – Crafting a platform for a gaming enthusiast allows us to bring out creativity in design, making a visually engaging and content-friendly site.
Each site is currently in its initial design phase, except for the tennis café, which will kick off once their rebranding is complete. This process has allowed us to expand our portfolio in unexpected ways, from small business to personal and event websites. It’s especially meaningful to support a local business and a couple’s wedding website—projects we may not have otherwise encountered.
Looking ahead, we do plan to run more giveaways, although they’ll be focused on logo designs rather than full websites due to the time commitment involved in building multiple sites. A single-winner approach feels like a better fit for future giveaways.
Thank you to everyone who entered and helped us make this first giveaway a success. We’re looking forward to more community-focused initiatives, connecting with more local businesses, and bringing your ideas to life!
We'll be posting updates to the development of these websites on our Instagram page, so why not give us a follow?
